ABOUT 2018-02-28T08:20:31+00:00

My interest in politics over the years is better characterized as an “itch” and not an ambition, until now.  I love what I do for a living: helping people think things thru and playing things forward and making difficult decisions simple.  And although the decision to run for Illinois State Representative in the 62nd District was difficult, my purpose is simple:  common sense leadership, sound financial stewardship, a willingness to go the extra mile, and putting the best interests of my fellow citizens before my own.

The new normal in Illinois seems to be hopelessness.  Our income tax rates rise without cuts to the budget.  Property taxes increase at an unsustainable rate.  Districts are gerrymandered to favor the party in power and more families and small business are leaving the state.  I think giving Springfield more time without new thinkers and leaders is wishful thinking.  Tensions are high surrounding politics these days but we cannot shy away from public service and doing what’s right. The election this coming year has the potential to be one of the most interesting elections we’ve seen in Illinois in a long time.  More than 2 dozen current lawmakers have resigned or are not running for re-election. Help me get elected and let’s Turn Illinois Around.

EXPERIENCE

  • Agent of the year – 2017
  • As an advisor and small business owner, I make a living thinking things thru and playing things forward.
  • In my 25 years as a financial advisor I have had stewardship over hundreds of millions of dollars in insurance and investments.
  • In 2009 I was recognized as one of the most influential advisors under the age of 40 by Advisor Today magazine.
  • I have spoken all over the United States and Canada.
  • I am a published writer in several professional journals.
  • Not only have I survived in a profession with a 90% failure rate, but I have been recognized to perform in the top 5% of the industry.
  • For years I have spent my own money and time away from home meeting lawmakers in both  Springfield and Washington D.C. to advocate on behalf of the 75 million American families that depend upon agents and advisors for advice and service.
  • I have been elected twice by my peers to lead their professional association (Chicago, and Illinois).
  • To date, 4 of my professional colleagues have chosen me as their successor.
  • Does raising 4 children in this upside down culture count?  I think so.

FAMILY

One of my greatest accomplishments as a human being is raising four children: Claire (19), Olivia (18), Dominic (16) and Victor (14). My wife, Dianna, is a hard working dedicated woman that strives to put her husband and family first. We have lived in Grayslake for nearly 22 years, most of it on the same street.

WORK

For nearly 25 years I have been helping families and small businesses plan for their future and make smart choices with their money. I love what I do for a living and it is one of the most noble professions on the planet. I get to help families plan and walk along side them for all the major life events life brings. I have operated my business out of Grayslake since 2008.

FAITH

A chunk of my formal education was directed by priests, brothers, nuns and monks, and that has of course influenced my faith. In high school I attended both a teenaged version of C.C.D. and an evangelical youth group. After graduating St John’s University (MN), I moved home, started my insurance and investment practice, a family, and began attending a non-denominational congregation in Grayslake, called The Chapel. I’ve worshiped there since August of 1995.
